Volunteers Needed

We are looking for speakers, trainers, responders, and people who can act as community liaisons in all our New Mexico communities.
If you have the time and experience to be a speaker or trainer for suicide prevention, intervention or postvention in your community and your surrounding communities, we’d appreciate being able to add you to the list we are creating for the Department of Health. We also very much need people who can respond after a suicide. You may already have training for this, but if you are willing, there may be training available. Please contact us. The Coalition and the Office of School and Adolescent Health often needs information about community needs, who in the community might help with a project, and other information that would help us connect to people. If you can be a resource person for us, please call. The person to call if you can volunteer in any of these categories is Gwen, NMSPC Executive Director, at 505-401-9382.

We need office space.
The Coalition needs office space in Albuquerque. Please let us know if you can provide donated space. Remember, NMSPC is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization. This could be an opportunity for the donor as well as the recipient!

We need Board members with skills!
The NMSPC is looking for additional members to our Board. As we grow, we realize we could really use some expertise in our group. We are looking for Board or Advisory Board members who have skills and knowledge in the following areas: Accounting, Law, Public Relations, Grant Writing/Fundraising.

Let us know if you may be interested in joining our Board or Advisory Board. If you want to help, but do not feel you have the time to join us officially, we would gratefully accept your assistance as your time allows.

We need Committee Members!
Recently, several members and supporters signed up to help further the NMSPC mission by working on specific committees. Thank you to all who signed up! We are in the early stages of committee development, and need more committed volunteers. Many areas will not take up much time, just some early organizing and then time as needed.

The committees are:

  • Grants/Fundraising
  • Leglislative
  • Advocacy
  • Education and Awareness

For more information about how to be an active participant in the Coalition, please e-mail us.

Your talents and time will be put to good use. This Coalition is strong because of the work of all of our members and supporters.
Thank-You!

NMSPC Wish List

Our main wish is to reduce the suicide rate in New Mexico. However, in order to work toward that mission, we need support from you.

We wish that all interested parties would join our coalition as a member for only $15.00. This supports our database and keeps our website updated. It helps us educate legislators and policy makers on the need for suicide prevention in our state. Your membership also provides support and resource information to anyone who seeks these. It also helps provide conferences and trainings on suicide prevention around the state.

For those who wish to give in services, we need so much: paper, copying, expertise with design for materials, fundraising support, conference support, and a conference phone. Let us know what you can offer. I’m sure we could use it.

Your membership, donation or service helps us to fulfill the work of reducing the suicide rate in New Mexico. Be a part of this effort. Together we will save lives! To donate to our wish list please send us an e-mail.
