Online Training

The National Center for Suicide Prevention Training (NCSPT), in collaboration with the
Suicide Prevention Resource Center, is pleased to announce a new online workshop currently available
(for free) at http://training.sprc.org.

This new workshop, the Research Evidence for Suicide as a Preventable Public Health Issue
provides an in-depth examination of the research evidence underpinning the claim that suicide is a preventable public health problem. The three workshop modules 1) Introduce a public health approach to prevention, 2) Examine in some depth the evidence for a “lethal means reduction” approach to preventing youth suicide, and 3) Provide an overview of comprehensive community strategies.

Other workshops in the NCSPT series include:

Locating, Understanding, and Presenting Youth Suicide Data

Planning and Evaluation for Youth Suicide Prevention

Youth Suicide Prevention: An Introduction to Gatekeeping
