Free Training on
Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention Taos, August 9th, 2008
|
Dr. Frank Campbell is the presenter for the Taos training.
If you've ever been to one of his workshops, we know you'll be in Taos
on August 9th. If you've never been to one of his workshops, don't
miss it! Ask anyone who has had the opportunity to learn from Frank,
and you will hear high praise.
Comments from the last New Mexico training by Frank Campbell:
...he had so much information and it was so practical, he would talk
about how it applied to real life situations.... I found his talk to be
just absolutely fantastic.
...he talked about what a powerful prevention tool postvention is and
how important it is for communities to begin that work. He talked about
a lot of the challenges in doing the work with systems that are in
place, whether it's the religious community or the educational system
that you're working in and some of the challenges that you face in
doing the work and how to counter some of them.
This day is for anyone interested in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. Don't miss it! It's FREE! Pass the word!

Suicide Prevention, Intervention & Postvention
TAOS COMING TOGETHER
Understanding and
Preventing Suicide
A Free Community Wide Training on
Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention
Presenter Dr. Frank Campbell, Ph.D., LCSW, CT
Executive Director of the Crisis
Center Foundation and the Office of
Clinical Research and Consultation, Baton Rouge, LA
Saturday, August
9, 2008 from 8:00am to 4:00pm
National Guard Armory
1145 State Road 570
Llano Quemado, New Mexico, 87557
Historically, Taos has been at the top
of statistical reports for suicide related deaths. Working together as a
community we are reducing these numbers by providing valuable information,
programs and raising awareness. Would
YOU like to make a difference? Would you
like to learn more about suicide, how to prevent it and help those
who are living with the aftermath?
Early recognition of the
warning signs of suicide, active intervention and referral to those who can
help are the keys to suicide prevention. Helping those left behind -- postvention --is imperative. Don't miss this
outstanding opportunity to learn about the impact of suicide in our community,
and help reduce the trauma.
Only 300 spaces
are available. Please pre-register (see below), but walk - ins will be welcome. Morning and
afternoon snacks and lunch will be provided.
This event is accredited with CEU's for Law Enforcement, Social
Workers/Counselors, and application has been made through the NM Nurses
Association for approval.
Organized
by the NM Suicide Prevention Coalition, this free event is made possible by a
generous donation from The Fred Fund - The Fred Fund
