Our Suicide Survivors Healing Conference is this Saturday. If you haven't already registered, please do so now. We finally have our On-line registration page working, so you can register from the convienience or your computer and charge the registration fee to your credit card. How easy is that?
We're also having our Quarterly Coalition Meeting on November 28th in Santa Fe. Please join us to hear about the happenings around the state and help us start make plans for our First Annual Statewide Suicide Prevention Conference to be held next June. You'll also get a chance to meet our newest Board Member, Patsy Trujillo.

The Conference coincides with the 9th Annual National Survivors of Suicide Day which includes an Internet broadcast from the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention that will be reaching out to tens of thousands of people who have lost a loved one to suicide.

| Homeless Veterans "Stand-Down"
November 16-17, 2007 - Albuquerque Homeless Veterans Stand-Down at the New Mexico Veterans Integration Center, 6101 Central Ave NE, 9 am to 5 pm both days. The purpose of the stand down is to provide free co-located services from Federal, State and community agencies to homeless veterans in NM. Services will include medical exams, DD-214 and other veteran benefits, employment, metro court, ID cards, VA medical cards, social security applications, food stamps, clothing and hot meals. The project is a collaboration between the NM Department of Veterans Services, US Dept of Labor, NM Dept of Workforce Solutions (Labor), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, NM National Guard, Human Services, DMV, and many other volunteers. ABQ Rape Crisis, Commission on the Status of Women, YWCA and Coalition Against Domestic Violence are scheduled to participate. Any homeless veteran can get free transportation to the event by telling any city bus driver that they are heading to the VIC and they will receive free passage.
